Safeguarding

The parish of Canterbury: St Martin & St Paul is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers, (PSOs).

The Diocese of Canterbury’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Officer (DSO) who advise our PSOs this can be found at: https://www.canterburydiocese.org/safeguarding.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Parish Safeguarding Officers. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the Police and your local authority Children or Adult Social Care Services Services.

The protection of children and vulnerable adults within our churches is a top priority. We are alert to the need to ensure that everyone can enter our buildings and take part in our activities without risk of harm. This is something in which every member of the congregation has a role.

If you have any concerns or would like to have a confidential discussion, please contact our Parish Safeguarding Officers – Lydia Newington and Monica Walling by calling our office number 01227 768072, and selecting Option 4.
