“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” 2 Corinthians 9:7
PeopleOutreach is about engaging people outside of our congregation to show them God’s love, giving them the opportunity, support and guidance to understand and share it. As a Parish we do this by giving up our time, both individually and collectively, and through our giving.
How much do we give?

10% of the money that is given to the Parish through Stewardship is set aside each year to support Outreach organisations.

How do we provide continual support?
As a parish we felt that it was important to ensure that our contribution is meaningful and can make a difference. We do this by offering a commitment to the organisations that we will continue to support them for between 3 to 5 years.
We also work to champion each of the organisations we support, this has included some articles within the Parish magazine (Pilgrim Post) so that we can share the work and progress more widely, please do take a look to see how the money can make a difference.
Who do we give to?
70% of our giving goes to organisations, predominantly Christian in ethos, which aims to reflect the diversity of both our Parish and society. We balance our giving between local, national and international organisations who undertake a wide range of outreach activities. The list of organisations currently supported is detailed below, you can find out more by following the links.
30% of our giving is retained to respond to emergencies and disaster appeals that arise mid-year and to support local mission activity. This will be reported in the Parish Annual Report. In 2015 it included a donation to support those who were left homeless as a result of the devastating fire that ripped through housing on the former tannery site in Canterbury.
