Outreach
Our Vision
is a church which is always available to, and serving those who do not call themselves our members.
Our Calling
is to respond to Jesus' own mission as in Luke 4 18-19, which is to preach good news to the poor, to build up the
broken hearted, release from darkness for the prisoners, and proclaim the year of the Lord's favour.
Our Challenge
is to encourage and support our parish in the ways of working out the practicalities of these verses.
Our Task
is to look beyond the horizon of our regular parish activities, and:
- encourage our relationships within our community
- guide the parish's understanding of the needs of the wider world
- respond to campaigns for justice, peace and the integrity of creation and initiate action where appropriate
- promote awareness and engage with ecumenical and interfaith networks
Our Actions
As part of our regular working out of this vision, and in thankfulness for God's goodness to us, the group will:
- seek to offer practical and prayerful support to the various mission activities in our parish and to raise their profile with church members
- communicate regularly to the parish about outreach activities
- strengthen our link with the Mampong Babies Home, in Ghana
- annually recommend appropriate giving to the PCC to Christian groups acting in Jesus' name and our behalf, internationally, nationally and locally, in the fields of mission, justice, social, and medical support.
