Many people are involved every week to make sure that the church functions as it should. Here are some of them by title; over the next few weeks, we will be adding photographs and biographical information.
Canon Noelle Hall is the Rector of the parish, having moved to Canterbury from Sittingbourne in 2000.
Noelle is married to Malcolm and can be contacted by telephoning 01227 462686 or sending an email to noelle-at-thinker117.freeserve.co.uk. If you cut and paste this email address into your email browser, you will need to replace the -at- with an @ sign. The Rectory is at 13 Ersham Road, Canterbury, CT1 3AR.
Bethany Lewis has been our Children & Families' Minister since the Autumn of 2012
The Churchwarden of St Martin's is Andrew Barlett and his deputy is James Sampson; and the Churchwarden of St Paul's is Sue Spillett and her deputy is Malcolm Hall (photos to follow soon).
We have two Readers in the Parish, Canon Rosemary Walters (see left photo)and Dr Edwina Bell (photo on the right). If you are not sure what a Reader does, read on. Edwina is about to leave us to move to another part of the country.
Brian Munday is an Authorised Lay Minister (ALM) in the parish, assisting with services including occasional preaching. He also chairs the parish's education group and co-leads a home-based Bible study group. Brian plays golf when his back permits, and chairs the board of a large social services organisation in the South East. Marylyn Collins is our Lay Pastoral Assistant.
The Director of Music is Dominic del Nevo and the Organist is Susan Honnor.
Ruth Matthews is Secretary of the parchial Church Council and deals with a myriad of reports
The Social Committee is organised by Jackie Curd, who is also the designated Premises Supervisor for the Parish Centre. The Committee provides excellent meals at parish lunches, teas, and suppers, and also organises parish events such as Open Gardens and fêtes to raise money for good causes.
The retired or non- beneficed clergy who still find time to help us by taking some services include Bishop Richard Llewellin, Canon Gordon Manley, the Revd Michael Reeve, and the Revd Peter Ingrams.
